| Ninja Ressurection Summary: |
|
| Christianity
is always a topic pretty foreign in anime. With an exception
for Evangelion, there hasn't really been any direct
Christian links in anime. This title in particular is
focused on it the most.
Ninja Ressurection starts
out in the 1500's. Christianity is forbidden by law,
but a village still stay vigilant to the religion.
Who better to stop it than
the legendary Jubei Yagyu and his gang (who never
really get explained).
However, thats only episode 1. Episode 2 shifts gears
as Jubei is shown more comically than violent. Also,
this volume fouces more on Satan and how a group of
people plan to revive him.
...then the show just
stops there. I couldn't beleive it! I was like "Why
did it
stop now? It can't be done yet." Just when the
story was getting good and I was getting use to the
chaotic violence and religous undertones, it just
stops. And at the best part too when Satan is finally
unleashing his terror. This doesn't mean I didn't
enjoy NR, but I am ticked about the sudden stop.
However, NR isn't for
everyone. Anyone who is a dedicated Christian, doesn't
like gore or just doesn't like the idea of Satan coming
out of a woman's chest should probably avoid it (unless
you wanna be grossed out). All those who like all
that stuff are urged to rent this atleast.
Overall, I loved this
two episode OAV. It has everything a ninja anime fan
could want. However, the sudden stop will definetely
turn off a few people. Rent it first.

I was shocked at all the gore, it was a complete suprise for me. I can't really say I'm a christian since my actions are contrary to what christ says to do but enough of that. some might find it offensive but it depends on a point of view you take at it. christ says you will be persecuted for following me but great is your reward if you endure to the end. Many christians had a sad fate as that, but at least their with jesus now and forever. I was really disappointed how it ended. I wanted to see more. I was just looking around to see if I could find information like if there was like any more episodes continuing where it left off. Now I hear it's an OAV series. Is it mean it's a prequal to Ninja Scroll? Forgive my ignorance, I have not seen that series and I just got Ninja Resurrection and seen it for the first time. If someone can answer my question, please e-mail me, I would appreciate it.
